The ability to upgrade items allows players to improve their weapons and gear with new affixes, increasing its base stats or adding additional perks. To upgrade an item, a player has to have it in their inventory and have access to the kiln.

Typically objects with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a more powerful base, while objects with strong bases, such as eth titans aren't affected in their stats following being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, weapons and gathering tools. They can be used as an attribute bonus, or extra effect, while the equipment is in use. They can be purchased from vendors, found as loot by enemies, or received from chests and missions. Some upgrades additionally have special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level before you can upgrade.
