World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Upgrades to items can be used to boost the stats of a particular item. Based on the type of upgrade it could raise an item's Mark level or Rarity, as well as boost other stats.

Each item has a track to upgrade it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a set amount.

Item Level

When an item gets upgraded, its base stats are increased in value. This is the sum of all of its leveled up benefits (attack, magic attack and defense). The cost of upgrading items can be high dependent on the upgrader and what type of upgrade you choose to do. This is due to the number of perks that must be altered to upgrade an item.

Item level is a popular measure of power, and can be found on all tooltips for items. It can also be used to limit how much PvP gear players are able to wear, since PvP is limited at lower levels. Players can view their average level of item on their character sheet.

Utilizing the level of an item can help players evaluate the power of equipment when they decide to buy or sell. It's a sign of the damage and quality. Comparing items in the inventory of a vendor is possible using the level of the item.

The item level can be viewed by pressing the ALT key on PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will show the item's full description, including the ilvl. You can also find it by hovering over an item and typing in /itemlevel chat.

There are many theories about how the item level is determined. One theory suggests that the item level is calculated using an equation that determines the worth of an item's stats actually are. It is based on the fact that different benefits are valued differently and that gems in the sockets boost the value of the item. This can result in a calculated value for the item's level, which is usually quite close to Blizzard's real item level.

This is not the only factor that influences the level of an item. The level of the area where the item was dropped may change its stats. For example, it could add a level to the item's haste, or crit rating. This means that items that drop at higher levels will have higher the ilvl than items from lower level instances.

Item Stats

The stats of an item can determine the fate of an item for players. The game uses a variety of them in different ways to encourage players to use multiple weapons, and to prevent one weapon from being "the best." The base stats on a weapon are boosted by the weapon's stat modification, which are themselves increased by the player's skill.

Upgrades to an item may increase its stats. The rarity of an item determines the upgrade cost. For example, a grey or white item will only be upgraded once, whereas an item with rare tiers will be upgraded several times with higher prices.

Affixes are another way to change an item's stats. They are stat boosts which can be added by the player to an item. The affixes are used to give items additional damage or other special abilities (such as the ability to revive dead or reduce cooling downs) or to differentiate them by putting a name on them.

All affixes are currently re-rolled by selecting them in the upgrade menu and pressing the green button. This will cost a certain amount of gold and other items. They can also be used as upgrade gauges just like the other rerolling methods.

In addition to Rerolling affixes and rerolls, players can select which stats they want to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The range of stats determined by the item's level. However every item will have at least one stat in that range unless they are a unique item, or an item that has a God Roll from a boss in a raid.

Another thing that could be changed is the option to upgrade equipment without having to reroll the attaches, or select which stats to enhance. But, like base equipment, this would have to be carried out on a per-item basis and the interface for item comparison will not show all the stats that could be either lost or gained at the same time.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player increases the chance of finding items, the properties that are created by loot and the strength of these properties. It does not, however directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It simply gives the player a possibility to obtain better gear in earlier waves and is therefore more beneficial in early game runs than later ones since most players prefer greater weapon scaling and defense over damage gains.

In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the probability of success when upgrading items with the Blacksmith. This is not to confuse with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading that increase with each new level of item. These can also be increased with the use of anti-materials like a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

item upgrader , shields and weapons can spawn or be crafted using the Luck property, which has an initial value of 40. These items can be augmented by using golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the material they are made of) to add another 40 luck, or to increase an item's existing Luck up to 140.

Furthermore, certain items, like the Hollow weapon that is infused with hollow can be outfitted to increase the damage of any damage-dealing skill by five percent. These items can be purchased in the shops or made using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Item upgrades are costly and not all upgrades will succeed. However, there are cash shop items which allow players to increase their chance of success or stop themselves from losing an item if the upgrade fails.

The rate of success of an upgrade can be seen in the Honing UI. The percentage indicates the probability of successfully upgrading an item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limits to how much the success rates can be improved and the chance of an upgrade failing cannot be greater than 100%..

The luck of an item may affect the success of an upgrade. Every item has an average success rate of 25 percent and every item with Luck increases this chance by 5%.

It is important to note that  upgrade item s are rendered above the items in the inventory, so enchantment glint and other effects can be obstructed by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
