10 Inspiring Images About Item Upgrade

WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade also boosts an unspecified substat.

The upgraded gear typically has a higher trade value as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or very high stat variance (like the eth titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader enables players to upgrade gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be made on any kind of armor or weapons. However, the item used for the upgrade will remain in use for a long time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enhancements.

The upgrader can be found in every major city, and can be accessed anytime to upgrade your gear. It is recommended to visit the upgrader once every couple of weeks to keep your equipment up-to-date.

The cost of upgrading will depend on the current level of the item being upgraded, but will always be less expensive than purchasing new gear from other sources. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. They are purchased by players from NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for various currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased,  item upgrades  can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor. button, which displays a preview of the item at the next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.

The cost of upgrading is based on the slot of the item and the current level of the item and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers for example. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of Flightstones or crests used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain level, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

Many locations have upgraders for their items, including the main Island and some outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon and the chance to obtain an entirely new recipe. The discount for upgrading increases as more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete certain achievements or quests.

Unlike Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no item upgrader available at the start of Icewind Dale. The NPCs that can assist with upgrades are only available through a variety means. This is both a benefit as well as a disadvantage.

In Season 3, the upgrade system was modified a bit, and numerous new features added. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a specific item level for a particular armor slot, upgrading additional items to that same item level will cost less, even in the event that they belong to a different gear set.

The amount of Valorstones needed to upgrade is reduced and the discount is available across all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is cut also, but is only available when certain milestones are reached.

Crests

Players have a variety of options when it comes to upgrading their equipment in WoW. They can make use of Flightstones which are a general upgrade currency that is available to all players, or crests that are more specific and consumed during upgrades on specific item levels. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1 and are available in four ranks.

The first thing to be aware of is that crests are only able to be used to purchase equipment that is of a particular rank, and that every rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. The simplest and easiest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade can require up to 20 crests, depending on the type or gear that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through completing tasks at the appropriate level. This could mean engaging in outdoor activities or completing dungeons and raids in all difficulties to get lower-level gear or Mythicbosses for raids, or dungeons with heroic difficulty to obtain endgame gear. Crests can be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC, like Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken, for the appropriate upgrade routes and steps.

Using these new currencies isn't too difficult however, the system does introduce some changes to the overall upgrade process. When a piece of equipment has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it no longer requires Flightstones. This is to allow players to upgrade their equipment to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters, rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.

Another notable change is that crests have one use and it's crucial to use them properly. It is best to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the top-quality equipment you can find, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is especially relevant for rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to avail the account-wide discount if all of the slots are full of high-quality gear.
